Eid Day Celebration at Markfield, Leicester

The New Muslim Project based at the Islamic Foundation in Markfield are holding their annual Eid Day Celebration for Reverts/Converts this Sunday, 4th September.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Eid with other converts and their families. The day will include fun activities for children, sports and games, as well as lunch, henna painting and book stalls.

The New Muslim Project have informed us that the price on the door will be £6 per adult and £4 for children up to age 13, contrary to what is stated on the poster. Admission is free for children aged five and under.

Sisters 4 Islam are holding a talk starting at 7pm followed by Iftar every Saturday and Sunday for New Muslims in Leicester, this is held at Masjid Al-Furqan, 1, Kamloops Crescent, Leicester LE1  2HX.

Friday Night Iftars

Friday Night Iftars at The Empire 2010

Ramadan is due to start this coming week inshallah and following the success of last year, LNM would like to invite the New Muslims of Leicestershire, along with their friends and families to a series of  Iftar get-togethers every Friday night during Ramadan at the Empire Conference Centre for an evening of good food, good company and spiritual inspiration.

Please keep the following dates in your diaries:

In keeping with the community spirit, we’d like to invite people to bring along food with them. So bring a dish if you can but just come if you can’t!

The evening will be  from Maghrib right through till after Tarawih prayers, and you are welcome to come along for the whole or just part of it. Inshallah we will get the chance to break our fasts together, stand in prayer together and have the opportunity to hear some beautiful recitation of the Quran during prayer.

The invitation is open to all New Muslims their friends and families, so spread the word.

Presentations will be followed by a hearty meal consisting of Samosas, Lamb Biriyani, Chicken Curry, Vegetable Curry, Naan and Salad followed by dessert.

(Note: The location of the meeting does not lend itself easily towards providing separate childcare for the event. If it is necessary for you to take your children with you we would be so grateful if you would kindly bring some quiet play, i.e. drawing / painting / puzzle / reading books for the children while the presentations are being delivered. The United Muslims Convention 2010

The United Muslims Convention 2010, Birmingham, Sunday 20th June

To all those who have bought tickets, please note the following information:

The coach will be departing from Madani High School, 77 Evington Valley Road LE5 5LL promptly at 12.00pm on Sunday 20th June.

Therefore please be at Madani, by 11.50am at the latest, to be seated and ready to leave by 12.00pm.

All tickets should have been paid for in advance. Any outstanding fees should be paid for on the day. 

Incase of getting lost/ being unable to find the coach on the return journey, please jot down the following number – 07746 652 476.
Kindly remember that adults are responsible for their children, both on the coach and at the event. Once there, you will be free to visit/ attend which ever parts of the event you wish.

Please be back at the coach for 6.50pm to be seated and ready to return to Leicester for 7.00pm.

Internationally renowned and respected scholars including Shaykh Dr Muhammad Al-Ninowy (USA), Shaykh Shady Alsuleiman (Australia), Abdur Raheem Green (Peace TV – UK), Shaykh Yahya Rhodus (USA) and Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq.

Not forgetting performances from Kamal Uddin and Talib al Habib, Q & A sessions with scholars, a massive souk (bazaar), a talent show and games for the kids, tantalising food and drink, mehndi and face painting, a bouncy castle, family support services, matrimonial introduction services, financial services and educational opportunities! 

So with the event of the year just around the corner, here’s how to make sure you dont miss out!!
LNM will be hiring a coach, departing from Madani High School, 77 Evington Valley Road LE5 5LL promptly at 12.00pm on Sunday 20th June and will return to Leicester the same day, leaving Birmingham at 7pm.
Tickets will need to be bought and paid for in advance. Tickets cost £6 per person, subsidised by LNM (£6 covers the coach fee and snacks for the journey. LNM will not profit from the sale of tickets and entry to the event is free of charge).

For families of 4 or more, we are offering a special ‘family ticket’ which entitles you to a 20% discount on the total cost of tickets.
To reserve your place email with your name, address and contact details specifying how many tickets you wish to reserve. Alternatively you can text your details to 07862 259 786 (brothers) or 07746 652 476 (sisters). A member of the LNM team will confirm this with you and will then arrange payment and delivery of tickets.
The last day of confirmation of tickets is Sunday 13th June at midnight! The UMC is a very popular event and there are limited coach places, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Please note that children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
