Past Events Organised By LNM ~
LNM has already organised a number of events for Ramadhan and Eid 2009. We hosted iftars (meals for breaking fast) every Friday night during Ramadhan that were a great success, alhamdulillah . On the day of Eid itself we hosted “Eid in the Park” for New Muslims and their families including food, activities, bouncy castles and children’s Quran recitation with prizes and certificates.
Below you can find the relevant blog entries from past events:
Eid Celebration:

Eid in the Park, 20th September:
It brings us great pleasure to invite all New Muslims and family to join us this year in celebrating Eid al-Fitr in Spinney Hill Park!
Come down to the huge marquee in the park on Eid day – either Sunday 20th or Monday 21st Sept – after Dhuhr Salah for an afternoon of fun and celebrations.
Activities include:
- Bouncy Castles
- Kids’ Party Games
- Talent Show
- …and a lovely Eid lunch and refreshments!
Open from 2 – 6 pm, Eid In The Park is open to all New Muslims and family so please come down yourself and spread the word!
And please, please, please, help us by leaving a comment below to let us know if you’ll be coming.
Ramadan 2009:
During the blessed month of Ramadan, LNM will be holding Iftar get-togethers every Friday night at the Empire Conference Centre for all New Muslims (and family) so you can meet up with fellow Muslims, break your fast and stand in prayer together, and enjoy evenings of spiritual inspiration and brother-/sisterhood. Please keep the following dates in your diaries:
- Fri 28 Aug
- Fri 4 Sep
- Fri 11 Sep
- Fri 18 Sep
The evening will be from Maghrib right through till after Tarawih prayers, and you are welcome to come along for the whole or just part of it.
Rather than get involved in elaborate catering and in keeping with the community spirit, we’d like to invite people to bring along food with them – after all, the month of fasting is also the month of sharing! But, please, this is not a Condition of Entry. Bring if you can, just come if you can’t.
In sha’ Allah, you’ll also be treated to some beautiful Qur’an recitation in Tarawih and enlightening lessons in Tafsir.
Crèche facilities are available, but limited. (See separate post).
Invitation is open to all New Muslims and family, so please spread the word.
This website is fantastic and I think the Friday messages are really cool!
